SharePoint Online backup failures
Identified - We have identified the cause of an issue where some SharePoint Online backup jobs are failing to complete for a subset of customers. The issue is caused by a change in Microsoft’s SharePoint CSOM API that is being rolled out progressively. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue but has not provided any information about the timing of a fix.

All existing backups are safe and unaffected. Backups of other data sources are running normally. New SharePoint Online data may not be backed up for affected customers while the issue persists.

We are actively working on a resolution and will share further updates as soon as new information becomes available.

Update - We continue investigating an issue affecting backup coverage for Microsoft 365 Exchange connectors across multiple regions, specifically related to In-Place Archive content, which may trigger an anomaly detection alert.
We have confirmed there is no data loss — all data remains safely stored, including items that may not currently appear in the latest snapshot. We will provide a further update as soon as possible.
